Mr. Krabs Gets Ready for the Snowstorm
Mr. Krabs was watching the weather forecast on TV when the weatherman made a big announcement.
"A massive snowstorm is heading to Bikini Bottom tomorrow! Expect 18 inches of snow!"
"Eighteen inches!" Mr. Krabs gasped. "I need to get me Ariens snowblower ready! I can't have snow blocking customers from getting to the Krusty Krab!"
He rushed to his garage and pulled the tarp off his old Ariens snowblower. It had been sitting there all summer.
"Let's see if she starts," Mr. Krabs said, pulling the starter cord.
The engine sputtered but didn't start.
"Barnacles!" Mr. Krabs muttered. "I bet the spark plug is dirty and the oil needs changing!"
He grabbed his tools and checked the spark plug. Sure enough, it was old and corroded.
"I need to get to the auto parts store before the storm hits!" Mr. Krabs said, scuttling out the door.
At Bikini Bottom Auto Parts, Mr. Krabs walked up to the counter where a helpful fish named Stan was working.
"I need a new spark plug for me Ariens snowblower!" Mr. Krabs announced.
"What model do you have?" Stan asked.
"It's an Ariens Deluxe 28," Mr. Krabs said proudly.
Stan typed on his computer. "Alright, you'll need a Champion RJ19LM spark plug. That's the correct plug for your engine."
"RJ19LM, got it!" Mr. Krabs said, taking the spark plug. "And I need oil too!"
"For a snowblower, you'll want 5W-30 synthetic oil," Stan explained. "That viscosity works best in cold weather. It stays fluid even when it's freezing outside."
"5W-30 synthetic," Mr. Krabs repeated, grabbing a bottle. "How much do I owe ye?"
"That'll be $12.50 for both."
"TWELVE FIFTY?!" Mr. Krabs clutched his chest. "That's highway robbery!"
"Mr. Krabs, you need these parts or your snowblower won't start."
Mr. Krabs grumbled but paid the money. "This storm better not cost me any business!"
Back home, Mr. Krabs installed the new Champion RJ19LM spark plug and drained the old oil, replacing it with fresh 5W-30 synthetic oil.
"There we go," he said, wiping his claws. "Now let's try starting her up!"
He pulled the starter cord, and the engine roared to life!
"YES! She runs perfectly!" Mr. Krabs cheered.
That night, the snowstorm hit just like the forecast predicted. By morning, there was snow everywhere!
Mr. Krabs fired up his Ariens snowblower and cleared a perfect path from the street all the way to the Krusty Krab's front door.
"Thanks to me new spark plug and fresh oil, customers can get through!" Mr. Krabs said happily.
Sure enough, customers started arriving, including SpongeBob who trudged through the snow for work.
"Wow, Mr. Krabs! You cleared all this snow yourself?"
"Aye, SpongeBob! A little maintenance goes a long way! The Champion RJ19LM spark plug and 5W-30 oil did the trick!"
"I don't know what that means, but it sounds impressive!" SpongeBob said cheerfully.
And thanks to Mr. Krabs' preparation, the Krusty Krab stayed open all through the snowstorm, serving hot Krabby Patties to cold, hungry customers.
The End.
