Squidward's Minecraft Addiction
SpongeBob was bouncing excitedly at the Krusty Krab. "Patrick and I are going to play Minecraft tonight! We're building an underwater castle!"
"What's Minecraft?" Squidward asked, not really caring.
"It's a video game where you build stuff with blocks! You can make anything you want!"
Squidward rolled his eyes. "A game about stacking blocks? That sounds incredibly childish and boring. You two have fun with your little baby game."
That evening, SpongeBob and Patrick were at SpongeBob's house, sitting in front of the TV with controllers.
"Look, Patrick! I'm mining for diamonds!" SpongeBob said.
"I'm building a house made entirely of dirt!" Patrick announced proudly.
They were having so much fun that they didn't notice Squidward peeking through the window, curious despite himself.
"Hmm," Squidward muttered. "I suppose I could see what all the fuss is about. Just to prove how dumb it is."
The next day, Squidward secretly bought the game and started playing at home.
"This is ridiculous," he said, placing his first block. "Just stacking blocks like a toddler... although this stone does look nice here..."
Two hours later, Squidward was still playing.
"I'm just building a simple house," he told himself. "Nothing fancy... but it DOES need a second floor... and maybe a garden... and a moat..."
The next morning at work, Squidward had dark circles under his eyes.
"Squidward, are you okay?" SpongeBob asked. "You look tired."
"I'm FINE," Squidward snapped. "I just stayed up a little late... reading."
But that night, Squidward played Minecraft again. And the night after that. And the night after that.
He built a mansion, then a museum, then an entire replica of the Krusty Krab. He couldn't stop!
A week later, SpongeBob noticed Squidward yawning constantly and looking exhausted.
"Squidward, what's going on?"
Squidward finally cracked. "Okay, FINE! I've been playing Minecraft every night! I can't stop! I said it was a dumb game, but it's actually AMAZING! I'm building a scale model of an art gallery and I need to finish the fountain!"
SpongeBob's eyes lit up. "You like Minecraft?! That's wonderful! Want to play together?"
"Really?" Squidward said. "You're not going to make fun of me?"
"Of course not! The more the merrier!"
That evening, SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward all played together.
"Look at my dirt house!" Patrick said proudly.
"Check out my underwater castle!" SpongeBob showed them.
"Behold my magnificent art gallery with historically accurate architecture!" Squidward announced.
They played for hours, and even though Squidward tried to act like he wasn't having fun, he couldn't hide his smile.
"Okay, okay," Squidward finally admitted. "Maybe Minecraft isn't a baby game. Maybe it's... actually pretty great."
"Told you!" SpongeBob said happily.
And from that night on, Squidward never made fun of their games again. Well, at least not Minecraft.
The End.
